Prof. Ian Chapman to become new CEO of the UK fusion programme

On the 3th of August, Professor Ian Chapman has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA). Starting on the 1st of October, professor Chapman takes over the CEO position of professor Steve Cowley.

To make the researchers familiar with some of the large-scale facilities available at SCK-CEN an excursion to the VENUS-GUINEVERE reactor was organized for the interested participants. Given that the groups were limited to 5-6 participants, two sessions were organized after lunch, each taking 1.5 hour.
