2016 Joint ICTP-CAS-IAEA School and Workshop on Plasma-Material Interaction in Fusion Devices

The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will jointly organize this school and workshop to be held in Hefei, China, hosted by the CAS Institutes of Plasma Physics (ASIPP) and of Solid State Physics (ISSP), from 18 to 22 July 2016. The event will be devoted to computational methods and their application for the study of plasma-material interaction processes in fusion devices and of related material properties.

Kick-Off of the ANNETTE project for FuseNet

FuseNet participates in the ANNETTE project on nuclear education and training, that had its kick-off meeting last week in Pisa, Italy.

Electron-scale turbulence plays an important role in transport

The fifth General Assembly of FuseNet took place at ITER at February 4, 2016. A workplan for 2016-2017 was approved.

Angela Merkel starts first Hydrogen plasma of Wendelstein 7-X

The Wendelstein 7-X stellarator at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) in Greifswald produced its first hydrogen plasma on February 3, 2016. Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel pushed the button. 

Summer School on Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion

The second edition of the summer school at the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University will be hosted from 4 - 15 July 2016.
