Internships in Fusion

Several Fusenet members offer internship projects, typically for two or three months, often in the summer, and for students at varying stages in their education. Some provide funding, whereas for others the student needs funding of their own.

• Culham Centre for Fusion Energy
  In England the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy hosts several students each summer, usually for eight weeks. Projects are in fusion physics (experiments, computer codes, theory) and fusion engineering. Contact Anna Barns for more information.
   
• CEA/IRFM
  In France, CEA/IRFM offers internships for weeks and months, most taking place in the spring. Consult this project page for more details or contact Clement Laviron.
   
• Max-Plank Institute
  In Germany, there are internships at the Max-Planck-Institute für Plasmaphysik at Garching and Greifswald. For details you may consult their project pages.
   
• Instituto Piero Caldirola
  In Italy, Instituto di Fisica del Plasma "Piero Caldirola" in Milan offers internships giving hands-on training on small plasma experiments and instrumentation. Contact Enzo Lazzaro for more information.
   
• FOM Rijnhuizen
  In the Netherlands, 8 to 20 week internships are offered by FOM-Rijnhuizen in experiments, theory and modelling. Contact Gieljan de Vries for more information.
