53rd Culham Plasma Physics Summer School

This school is the 53rd in the series organized at Culham Science Centre, near Oxford, from July 18-29, 2016. No preceding knowledge of plasma physics is assumed. Previous schools have attracted students from more than 50 different countries.

Lecturers for the Summer School are drawn from the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy and leading laboratories and university groups in magnetic and laser confinement fusion, space and astrophysical plasmas and low temperature plasmas from the UK and abroad.

The summer school consists of lectures, problem classes, a poster session, and laboratory visits. The lectures cover a broad range of fundamental topics and their applications. Laboratory tours of the JET and MAST tokamaks and the laser facilities at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory are included. Social events include a welcome dinner, a boat trip on the Thames and a banquet.

Fee & Application

Attending the summer school costs £940 and the deadline for applications is May 22nd, 2016. There is a discount for early registrations before the 1st of May, 2016.
