5th ANIMMA Conference

From 19th to 23rd of June, 2017, the fifth edition of the Conference on Advancements in Nuclear Instrumentation Measurements Methods and their Applications (ANIMMA) will take place. The event will be organized by SCK•CEN at the Palais des Congrès in Liège, Belgium.

ANIMMA 2017 is the fifth of a series of conferences devoted to endorsing and promoting scientific and technical activities based on nuclear instrumentation and measurements. The main objective of the conference is to unite the various scientific communities not only involved in nuclear instrumentation and measurements, but also in nuclear medicine and radiation. The conference is all about getting scientists, engineers, students and the industry to meet, exchange cultures and identify new scientific and technical prospects to help overcome both current and future unresolved issues.

Topics

The ANIMMA 2015 topics include instrumentation and measurement for:

  • Fundamental physics
  • Fusion diagnostics and technology
  • Advanced nuclear energy systems
  • Research reactors
  • Nuclear fuel cycle
  • Decommissioning, dismantling and remote handling
  • Safeguards, homeland security
  • Sever accidents monitoring
  • Environmental and medical science
  • Education, training and outreach

Programme

During the opening session, two world class scientists will present a review of research domains closely related to nuclear instrumentation.  Every subsequent day of the conference will be started with a plenary keynote lecture on a major topic of the conference. Four parallel sessions with oral presentations will be scheduled, after which there will be a short discussion. Furthermore, the programme will include poster sessions (all posters will be kept on display during the full conference), several workshops (more information will be announced shortly) and multiple short course. Starting from the physical principles, these courses will present a selection of applications of radiation detectors in various fields.

Registration

Registrations will open on the 5th of January, 2017, while the deadline for abstract submission is on the 17th of November, 2016. More information about the registration and the costs can be found here, whereas more information about abstract submission can be found here.
