2nd European Conference on Plasma Diagnostics

The 2nd edition of the bi-annual European Conference on Plasma Diagnostics (ECPD) will take place in Bordeaux, France, starting on Tuesday 18th of April 2017 and finishing on Friday 21st of April 2017. More than 150 scientists from all over the world attended the previous edition of the ECPD, which was organised in Frascati (Rome), Italy, and this year's event is expected to have even more participants.

The aim of the conference is to bring physicists and other scientists that are working on all kinds of different plasma diagnostics together for poster presentations and talks of invited guest speakers. The topics of the conference will include diagnostics for magnetic confinement fusion, beam plasmas and inertial fusion, low-temperature and industrial plasmas, and basic and astrophysical plasmas. On Friday afternoon, a visit to the Laser Mégajoule (LMJ) / Petawatt Aquitaine Laser (PETAL) facility is planned.

Venue and registration

The event will be held in a university building opposite to the Saint-André cathedral (Bordeaux Pey-Berland - Université de Bordeaux). Registrations have been opened and can be accessed via the following website. The conference fee for students ranges between €120 and €250 depending on the time of registration and EPS membership. This participation fee also covers the expenses the program and abstracts booklet, a conference bag, coffee breaks, the welcome reception and the gala dinner.
