44th IOP Plasma Physics Conference

The 44th IOP Plasma Physics Conference will take place on 3-6 April 2017 at the University of Oxford (UK). The conference is organised by the IOP Plasma Physics group and it covers all aspects of plasma physics, including Magnetic and Inertial confinement fusion, Astrophysical and Space Plasmas, Low Density and Technological/Industrial Plasmas, High Energy Density and Laser Plasmas, Dusty and Complex plasmas, Plasma Surface interactions, Plasma Applications including Medical applications and Plasma Diagnostics

Venue and programme

The event will take place at Worcester College, which is part of the University of Oxford. A limited number of single en-suite rooms are available in the same building. The room rate is £75 per night including breakfast. Accommodation at the college can be booked during registration for the conference. Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The programme will consist of a number of invited and contributed talks, poster presentations, as well as an excursion and an outreach event. The excursion is either a walking tour of Worcester College Gardens or an excursion to the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE). Participants should book their preferred tour during registration. Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The outreach event entitled ‘Plasma Science takes 5’, will feature around 10 members of the community giving 5 minute public outreach talks on a plasma science topic of their choice. Registration and more information

Registration is possible until the 17th of February (early-bird) or the 24th of March via the registration website. The exact registration fee also depends on your method of payment and whether you are a student or an IOP member (check here).
