The 5 days training course at PlasmaLab @ TU/e offers you the opportunity to increase your experimental skills! The Eindhoven University of Technology in collaboration with FUSENET invites you to its brand-new plasma lab for a new course taking place in the Netherlands from August 27-31, 2012.
Hands-on training is regarded as an essential part of the education of fusion scientists and engineers: to learn the necessary skills for future use, to get confronted with the experimental problems, or to visualize the theoretical knowledge and theory taught in the conventional courses.
However, facilities with the prime goal of education are scarce or scattered over different universities and research institutes. At Eindhoven University of Technology, just recently a brand-new 100 m2 hands-on plasma laboratory with 10 different set-ups has been established with exactly the above educational goals.
A one week course, open to all European master students in fusion, will be organize in this unique hands-on PlasmaLab @ TU/e. During this course, the students will work on the different setups, encountering experiments on plasma initiation, plasma confinement, heating plasmas, plasma surface interaction to diagnostics and others.
The course will be open to a total of 16 students, selected on a first come first serve basis, free of charge. Applications for funding of the travel and accommodation costs can be made with FUSENET: Funding Application
