The following type of PhD activities can be considered for support:
- Summer (or winter) schools, and workshops (typical duration one week) plus related activities, at PhD level, provided they are organized by a Fusenet partner institute.
- Other teaching activities, such as advanced courses organized as block courses at PhD level by Doctoral schools at partner institutions provided such courses are also open for attendance to PhD students from abroad not registered at the organizing Doctoral school.

Normal university courses are not eligible. To ensure that the activities have the character of 'joint' activities, the following rules apply:
- Activities must have substantial attendance of students outside their home organization. In the spirit of the technical Annex of the Grant Agreement, substantial is defined as more than 30%.
- Attending students should come from at least 3 countries.
An activity that satisfies the criteria above will be eligible for support, unless the Review Board judges the program of the event of insufficient scientific quality.
Calls for applications will be sent by e-mail to all FUSENET partners, with a 4-month rhythm for deadlines, e.g. 31.12.2011, 31.04.2012, 31.08.2012, etc.
The deadline for submission will be 4 months after the call.
