The FuseNet project is closed, long live the FuseNet Association!

On the photo above, you see the last and closing General Assembly Meeting of the Fusenet project in progress at CCFE in the UK. 30 September 2013 marked the official last day of the FP7 ‘coordination and support’ action Fusenet.

The chairman of FuseNet reflects on the 5 years the project has run and looks ahead to the future, in which FuseNet is ready to take up its role in training and education of the next fusion generation, in the framework of the European Roadmap:


First award event of the FuseNet Certificate programme

On 26 September, 2013, this first group of twenty students from 10 different universities in Europe were awarded their European Fusion Master’s and Doctorate certificates in a ceremony at JET, Culham, in the UK. The certificates are a recognition of excellence in fusion science and technology, and will from now on be awarded twice yearly by the FuseNet Association.


Third FuseNet PhD event took place at York University

With an attendance of almost 80 PhD Students, the third FuseNet PhD event in fusion science and engineering took place from June 24 - June 26, 2013 at the University of York, UK. The PhD event was a great success and you can read several eye-witness reports, browse photos and download all presentation of the event here:


FuseNet in a strategic position at ISFNT 2013

At the 11th ISFNT conference on fusion technology in Barcelona, the FuseNet stand - strategically located near the coffee corner - enjoyed great interest from both visitors and other exhibiting companies.


FuseNet Association welcomes new members

The FuseNet Association would like to welcome its latest members:

FuseNet Photo of the Month - October 2013

Two photos from the ITER site are featured in October 2013: the first photo shows an aerial view of the ITER worksite as it looked at the end of September, 2013, while the second photo (shown below) shows a close-up of the tokamak seismic pit with the basemat almost ready to receive its top layer of 100,000 tons of concrete later this year.
