Work Package 11

Title: Support to Master students

Goal:

Run a system that supports and facilitates individual Master students and their supervisors. The support at the Master-level is provided in several areas:

  • to enable Master students to take part in educational activities external to their own organization, including education training in industry.
  • to allow Master students to take undertake an internship abroad, e.g. in a fusion research institute or relevant industry. The aim of this action is to establish long-lasting links between universities and fusion research institutes and get new bright motivated students into the fusion system.
  • support the mobility of teachers for education at the Master level, thereby allowing smaller universities and developing countries to have access to good fusion education. The exchange of teachers improves the overall education and increases efficiency, because it allows universities to focus on specific topics in more depth and can ask the world’s experts to teach on other areas.
  • support for the organization of international practica and mini-workshops on specialized topics on Master-level that are not covered in regular summer schools and other educational events (analogue to the mini-workshops more aimed at the PhD-level in WP7). The funding scheme for the students and supervisors/teachers will closely follow the rules in similar actions within the Erasmus Plus framework.

Subtasks:

  • Provide support for Master students and their supervisors to do an internship abroad.
  • Provide support for mobility of teachers for Master students.
  • Provide support for the organisation of mini-workshops for Master students on specialized fusion topics.
  • Setup, communicate and run this support scheme in an efficient manner.

Deliverables:

  • Annual report on overview, procedure and effectiveness of action.
