"You can do anything you want!" -- Ana challenges young girls

A few weeks ago, we announced her as the Pecha Kucha champion of the previous PhD-event, but as a woman in the scientific field, Ana Kostic has also another story to tell. Hearing first about the concept of fusion energy through a cartoon TV-show at the age of five, Ana is now wrapping up as a PhD-student, having worked on a diagnostic tool to measure the electric fields that have a damaging effect on the plasma-heating antennas in a tokamak fusion reactor. But how did she get there and what are her plans?

"Practice to oblivion!" -- tips from 2018 Pecha Kucha winner, Ana Kostic

On International Pecha Kucha Day, we are excited to announce that the upcoming FuseNet PhD Event will host no less than 50 Pecha Kucha presentations by doctoral students on their research topic in fusion! But what makes for a successful pitch? How can you ensure your message is understood when you only have so little time to tell it? How do you even start? The winner of previous edition, Ana Kostic, shares some valuable tips to presenters.

Registration open for the PhD Event Padova, 3-6 March 2020

Doctoral students, reserve your seat for this networking event in the old university town and with visits to Consorzio RFX.

Next FuseNet PhD Event: 3 to 6 March 2020 - Padova

Next PhD Event: Padova! From 3 to 6 March, European doctoral students will gather in the old city, its gardens and the experimental facilities. We are honoured that the University of Padova and Consorzio RFX will host the event.

Continuing on a successful previous edition at ITER, this time good elements will be kept and improved. Experiment visiting, Pecha Kucha, ample time for poster sessions and a celebration are ingredients. Between 120-150 fusion doctoral students can be received. When eligible, affiliates to FuseNet members have priority.

Call for mini workshops 2019
