Research profile

Research in different branches of physics is carried out at the Department of Physics "G. Occhialini" (https://www.fisica.unimib.it/en). The plasma physics group of the department works on thermonuclear fusion and industrial applications of plasmas. More details on these research lines are available at the link https://www.fisica.unimib.it/en/research/plasma-physics. The group offers bachelor and master theses on each of its research lines, as well as a number of courses on plasma physics for bachelor and master students. PhD positions are also available every year through the Department for candidates who rank properly in a public competition for the admission to our PhD course. Research on thermonuclear fusion at our Department is carried out in close collaboration with the Institute for Plasma Science and Technology of the National Research Council (https://www.istp.cnr.it/en/), which is at walking distance from our building.
