8th International Workshop & Summer School on Plasma Physics (IWSSPP 2020)

The 8th International Workshop & Summer School on Plasma Physics (IWSSPP) 2020 would bring together leading researchers in the field of Plasma Physics to give lecture on their specialties to advanced graduate students, postgraduate students and young scientists in the form of a one-week intensive course.

47th European Physical Society Conference on Plasma Physics (EPS2020)

This annual conference with a long tradition is organized by the Plasma Physics Division of the European Physical Society (EPS). It covers the wide field of plasma physics ranging from nuclear fusion to low temperature, astrophysical and laser plasmas.

Registration open for the PhD Event Padova, 3-6 March 2020

Doctoral students, reserve your seat for this networking event in the old university town and with visits to Consorzio RFX.

2020 SOFT Innovation Prize - apply before 5th March

Apply now for the 2020 SOFT Innovation Prize! Building on the success of SOFT Innovation Prize in 2014, 2016 and 2018, the European Commission launches today the fourth edition of the SOFT Innovation Prize under Euratom Work Programme 2019-20. The prize contest is open to the world and invites international fusion researchers from all ITER partner countries and any third country, which has a bilateral fusion cooperation with Euratom. It sets no specific category, but is rather interested in any physics or technology innovation related to fusion with a potential for further exploitation. Prizes will be awarded at the 31st Symposium on Fusion Technology (SOFT2020) in Dubrovnik, Croatia, held between September 20th and 25th.

Next FuseNet PhD Event: 3 to 6 March 2020 - Padova

Next PhD Event: Padova! From 3 to 6 March, European doctoral students will gather in the old city, its gardens and the experimental facilities. We are honoured that the University of Padova and Consorzio RFX will host the event.

Continuing on a successful previous edition at ITER, this time good elements will be kept and improved. Experiment visiting, Pecha Kucha, ample time for poster sessions and a celebration are ingredients. Between 120-150 fusion doctoral students can be received. When eligible, affiliates to FuseNet members have priority.

Workshop on Radiation Damage in Nuclear Systems

From May 11th to May 22nd, in Trieste, Italy, a Workshop on Radiation Damage in Nuclear Systems: From Bohr To Young is jointly organised by the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). It assists Ph.D. students and early-career researchers in developing a quantitative understanding of the impact of radiation damage on materials, both for existing fission and proposed fusion reactors. There is an emphasis on the conceptual progression of theoretical and experimental techniques across spatial scales from atomistic descriptions to the macroscopic behaviour of bulk material.

The National Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology (INSTN) will organise the 2020 edition of the International School in Nuclear Engineering between January 14th and February 7th of 2020. The school aims at promoting knowledge in nuclear engineering (nuclear reactosr and fuele cycle) at a high educational level.

Winter School Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion

The course is intended as the first plasma physics course however it is also suitable for senior undergraduate students and graduate students.

15th Kudowa Summer School
