From February 1 - 5, 2016 I took the course “Plasma diagnostics in basic plasma physics devices and tokamaks: from principles to practice” at the Swiss Plasma Center in Lausanne.

I am working on PhD thesis in Saint-Petersburg in the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, my specialization is plasma physics, so I was interested in this course and I’m glad I’ve took part in this program.

I really liked lectures about plasma diagnostics and training on the TCV tokamak and the TORPEX device. It was a great opportunity to compare our methods of diagnostic and data analysis with methods of EPFL.

We had interesting lectures every day, worked in matlab and passed the final tests. In my opinion it was very good course, lectures were interesting and useful, I hope this experience will help me in my work.
