Workshop Parallel Computing for Fusion @IST

The Crash Course on Parallel Computing for Fusion 24h Tecnico.ULisboa is a course intended for Master and PhD students with a fusion-relevant study topic, that have some previous knowledge on programming but want to learn and increase their skills in advanced computing, in particular parallelisation. The course will take place from June 20 - 23, 2016.

The course will have an introduction to computing in nuclear fusion based on the European approach for the ITM (Integrated Tokamak Modeling) followed by a hands-on crash course in CUDA and MPI.

Master and PhD students in Fusion that wish to attend this course are requested to fill in this registration form. Students will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. You need to have gathered at least 10 ECTS in programming, computational physics or computational math during your academic track in order to apply. Up to four extra students in addition to the 12 granted can be accepted if they do not require lodgement. A maximum of 4 local students (from within a 100 km range of IST) are allowed at the course.
