Experiment: Double Langmuir probe

Location: Ghent University

Description:  The experimental set-up consists of a low pressure discharge tube equipped with a double Langmuir probe, located at different positions along the discharge axis. Students use the current vs. voltage trace, called the I-V characteristic, to measure plasma parameters such as the electron temperature, electron density, sheat potential, and plasma potential.
