Experiment: Turbulence in magnetized electrolytes

Location: Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Budapest, Hungary

Description:  The experiment generates spatially periodic electromagnetic fields by arrays of magnets and electrodes to induce arrays of eddies in electrolytes. Students can control the number, size, rotation speed and some other features of initially induced vortices can be controlled by the experimentalist by choosing the position and axis of magnetization of the magnets and the strength of electric field appropriately.
