PhD Event 2015 - Maria reports on Day 1
FuseNet coordinates the 2015 PhD event for students in fusion science and engineering that takes place in Prague. One of the PhD students present, Maria Suchonova reports:
Sunday, November 15
The opening day of the 5th FuseNet Phd event dit not really start the way I wanted... I was travelling to Prague by bus with my colleague. Because almost all day was rainy, the road was dangerous and during our journey we were eye witnesses of a few serious car accidents. These situations on the roads caused our delayed arrival to Prague and because of that we missed the teambuilding game, which I heard was great, funny and interesting.
One of the teambuilding activities - playing with plasma - that Maria missed...
Moved by Prague at Night
After the registration at the hotel, I met two other participants of this event and we went together to the FNSPE for the official opening of the event. So even though we missed teambuilding, we did get a glance of Prague at night! I have already spent some time in Prague before, but nonetheless I was moved by the genius loci. On our way we saw the beginning of the Christmas market, many wonderful building and churches, the Prague castle. And after that we saw Petřín with the colours of the France flag on it, because of the events from 2 days ago. After a moment of thinking about what happened back in Paris we moved on.

Meeting many new people with speeddating
The next part of the evening was very nice. I met a lot of new people during the speed date event and also people who I know from the previous event. I had a very nice time and for that I want to thank the organizing committee. After the whole day I was little bit tired and I went back to the hotel little bit early to get ready for the next day. Already I am looking forward to it.
