Second edition of GOMTRAIC announced

The second edition of GOMTRAIC (GOleM TRaining Course) was announced and is now open to subscription by students.

GOMTRAIC is a remote plasma physics course, oriented on experimental tokamak physics and control.

As can be understood from the above sentence, the course can be taken remotely, but it nevertheless starts with a live kick-off meeting, held at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague.

Plasma can be seen in the chamber while Golem tokamak being operated remotely

During this kick-off week, students will get acquinted with the tokamak, exchange ideas, learn how basic operations work, do some first experiments, and get prepared for the following month, during which the students can operate the tokamak remotely and collect data, through on-line sessions of experiments. The results are then to be captured in a final report, or publication.
